I am a freelance writer and write regularly for The Bakersfield Californian, Give Us This Day, and America Magazine. I have recently retired from a position in a state prison library, which inspired my book "Overdue: A Dewey Decimal System of Grace", which was released by Give Us This Day on August 15, 2019.

Valerie-I just finished “Overdue” and thoroughly enjoyed it! I do a lot of volunteer work at the Dorothy Day homeless shelter in St. Paul, MN— where many of the residents have prison backgrounds.
It was very interesting to get inside prison perspectives from a non-inmate, non-staff person. Very well written, very easy to read, very true, and very enjoyable!
BTW-I am a daily reader of give us this day. They did a very nice job promoting your book.
Thank you, sir, for your kind words!
I just finished reading Overdue, thank you for such great work. With so much information in your head, I wouldn’t have known how to organise it to write a clear and concise book. Thank you for your care and love for the imprisoned. Many blessings to you.
I tell you that I waited awhile to get the book because my husband didn’t want me to get another until I finished a couple on my shelf. It was a treat to read it. 🙂
